Centifolia (Unknown, before 1837)
A truly unique rose that seems to defy categorization. We’ll stick with the consensus – Centifolia. Duc de Fitzjames features distinctive flowers of rich cerise-pink that are large, cupped, quartered and fade to pale lilac pink. Superb fragrance and a vigorous growth habit.
Pronounced: dewk duh – from French Rose Names by Diana Bellucci

Emily –
I bought this rose from HCR a few years ago (sadly I somehow lost that account and had to create a new one) and least year it took off! It had 5’ canes which I pegged and then got literally hundreds of blooms. I bought this rose for it’s fragrance, as I bought a copper still this year and it made such a lovely rose hydro sol.
Duane Scheidemantle –
Seems to be a resilient rose. I purchased it because it will set hips with seed, unusual for a centifolia.
So far very pleased with it.
