Hybrid Perpetual (Peter Lambert, Germany 1901)
High pointed buds open to pure white flowers that grace this classic Hybrid Perpetual. The large and lightly scented blooms are borne mostly in solitary or small clusters that make a striking show as a cut flower. The plant is upright, reaching 4 to 6 feet, with light green foliage. Very hardy.
Pronounced: fraow kahrl DROOSH-kee – from French Rose Names by Diana Bellucci

I’ve been searching for the perfect rose to commemorate my lovely dad. He passed away this September. Rose after rose, I’ve look and thought it’s the “right rose”! But then I’d slowly shy away from each one and continued my search. In my years growing roses, I’ve never owned a white rose. To me, it felt like a bad omen to get a white rose in my culture, especially when both my parents were battling cancer at the same time. With my dad’s passing, I’ve personally removed that “bad omen” from my life and WANT to finally get a white rose, just for my Dad! I randomly came across an image of this rose and something sparked in me and I had to find it. Lo and behold, High Country Roses to the rescue! Ordered last night and can’t wait to get Frau Karl Druschki, so I can care for it with all my heart! Miss my daddy so much.

A nice white rose. Repeats through the season for me. Made it through the zone 5b/6a winter.
