After back-to-back difficult shipping seasons, we piloted a new approach to order fulfillment this fall. After a little adjustment, we are confident that the new system will greatly improve our shipping timeliness. We have moved to a daily capped system that will limit the number of orders scheduled for a specific day. In the past, we have pooled orders by week with the intention of everything arriving by the weekend. As many of you have experienced over the past seasons, this led to a snowball effect of delays as our shipping volume increased. The new approach will do a better job of setting delivery expectations without overloading the system.
Do note that this will mean popular shipping dates will disappear from our calendar as the schedule is filled. Additionally, packages scheduled for shipment later in the week will go over the weekend in transit. Our partnership with UPS makes this a much safer proposition as they are now servicing the entire contiguous United States in 3 days from Denver. Even with a Sunday down day included, packages have been arriving in good shape in 4 days. I am confident this will greatly improve our customer experience.
