This is only the first year for Candy Land, but so far I love this rose. It was planted mid-summer and didn’t bloom until the fall. It surprised me by opening as pale yellow and pink and then turning white and pink a couple days later as the blossom aged. Then the blooms, which averaged about 4″ across, lasted for nearly a month. (Yay!) I have lots of different roses, but this is one of those that people say, “Wow!” when they see it.

I ordered a Candy Land in late summer of 2023 and potted it up, as I am doing mostly container rose gardening for the moment, and start my band-sized roses in modest pots, and then move them up into bigger ones each season. The Candy Land didn’t do too much last year, as it was a short season, and it was basically just rooting and structuring out. This spring, the plant has exploded into exuberant growth and magnificent clusters of blooms — WOW, it’s everything I hoped for and more. Plus this is BEFORE I even got around to transferring it into a larger pot. It’s getting the new large pot this week and a new trellis, and I’m super excited at what surely will be a glorious season for this gaily-colored rose. I love all striped roses, and have never grown this particular color combo before. I highly recommend this climber, especially if you are looking for an eye-catching, unusual rose. Plus: do not worry if your climbing rose is a little slow in the beginning, oftentimes they have to get situated, and THEN come the blooms!

I purchased Candyland last year and it has been prolific this year. Beautiful flower in pink and white. It seems to repeat well. It is a climber but I have not begun to train as such. I am just letting it grow for now. She seems to have great disease resistance. I had Rust in several varieties but this \rose did not show any.
