Floribunda (Christian Bédard, United States, 2011)
Don’t let the pastel hues fool you. This quiet color packs a powerful punch of unparalleled perfume…a sweet licorice & lemon blossom aroma that will make you tingle with delight. A bouquet-making machine-of-a-plant with wonderfully formed buds that open into big wavy wonders set atop sturdy stems clothed with dark green leaves. Bushy & beautifully branched, the plant looks as good in the garden as the flowers do in a vase. More yellow when cool…more white when warm.

Bought 2019. Rose doing very well. Have my first bloom, May 2020.
Good clean white with yellow tints.

The sweetest little yellow rose west of the Pecos! Had to hold it in its band pot for about a week while I redid the drip irrigation. It sort of got water (the paper tape made it a little difficult so I think it was feast or famine). It arrived during high temperatures +100,in my 8B garden so I was a little worried. I finally got it out in the garden and she pushed a beautiful pale yellow bloom within a week. When I walk the garden every day, she greets me with her pretty sunshine and the offset of color next to an old Cinco de Mayo (which is pushing orange right now because of the heat) is stunning! Hopefully, she will continue to shine and grow into her full potential!

I got White Licorice after asking Matt for his recommendation and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s done in my garden. It puts on huge sprays of dozens of pale yellow blooms with a distinct anise scent and barely gets done with one round before the next round is starting. It holds up well in lots of rain and the bees love it. The bush is a tidy upright shape that works well next to the path since it doesn’t sprawl. It established quickly in its first year and came back well after the winter.
