Hybrid Tea (Herbert C. Swim, United States, 1977)
An eye-catching color combination and a fantastic nose-pleasing fragrance combine to create the Double Delight in this iconic rose. The prolific bush provides lots of creamy pointed buds that blush red with the rays of the sun. Deep green leaves. Best color and flower size in warm days and cool nights.

My absolute favorite rose. The colors are eye catching and each flower is unique in the coloring. The buds start out white with a bright pink tip and open into something that looks photoshopped. The scent is one of the strongest and its hard to not sit there smashing the petals with your face like my kid does when she sees this rose blooming. This rose is a survivor and has lived through neglect and foul weather. No issues with disease.

I love the colors and fragrance of this rose and it even had good winter survival in that the canes didn’t die back and need to be pruned. It just wouldn’t grow very fast at all for me and I ended up gifting it to a friend because it only put out a couple of blooms per flush. Interestingly it loves her (also zone 4) garden and in one summer the plant has given her more blooms than it gave me in three years. So it’s a nice rose, just didn’t work for me.

I absolutely love the color and fragrance of this rose and it is a showstopper in my garden due to both these features! All my friends want one now!

This variety was sent by mistake and I couldn’t decide a planting location so I put it in a medium sized container and put it in a sheltered spot for the winter…WOW, such incredible vigor and fast growth! And even a perfectly formed bloom with amazing perfume just as winter was coming on. I am now a devotee and can’t wait to see how she does in the ground. Not sure why but the late bloom had was much more delicate coloration than this rose is usually shown to have but was actually even more beautiful.

I am in zone 8A. DD is in a container. Pros beautiful flowers with heavenly scent. Con – blackspot magnet but can be controlled with regular treatments

A great rose. I love the color and the change that it can go through with the amount of sun. Also it has a very identifiable scent
