I bought one plant for myself and one for my grandma. Mine is west facing and grew very well over one season, producing plenty of beautiful flowers. However, mine paled in comparison to my grandma’s! Hers was planted on a south facing brick wall and grew to about 6’ in one season, with masses of lush foliage and an abundance of blooms. Even on our hottest days (90’s this year) this rose looks happy and healthy. There is nothing not to like about this rose. And, as always, High Country Roses has superb quality plants.

Arrived happy and healthy, and established itself quickly — one cane grew 5 feet in its first year. With just one season under its belt it hasn’t bloomed yet, but that’s typical of new plants in my location (southeast Alaska) and I look forward to watching it bloom in future seasons.

I garden in a high humidity zone (7b). Westerland is very healthy for us and I love the frilly bloom. For a video to see the bloom: https://youtu.be/0CL41FB0BeY

This rose is a workhorse! Plants from High Country Roses were SO strong and healthy. It didn’t thrive where I had it planted the first two years, so I moved it to a sunnier/hotter location and it just TOOK OFF! Lush, green foliage. No disease problems, limited pest interest and masses of shockingly vibrant red/orange/apricot blooms. The blooms practically glow, they are that bold/bright. A lovely rose!

A unique color rose. It can be grown as a large shrub as well as a climber. It has fairly long canes
