This rose has such a unique purple coloring that I have not seen in similar-looking roses. It can throw some long canes so just be aware and give plenty of room but I would not be without this rose. Such a pretty color.

I love this rose in my garden. The color is a deep purple in cooler weather and a brighter pinkish purple in the heat, and the rebloom has been excellent for me. It’s disease free and does well in a vase. It was hit pretty hard by deer in its first year so it was hard to tell how well it was establishing, but in its second year it was a stellar performer.

First year rose review, spring 2023, zone 5b. From this order I purchased: Princess Charlene de Monaco, Koko Loko, Reine Des Violettes, Firefighter, Top Cream, Bolero, Ebb Tide, Apricot Twist, and Quicksilver. Quicksilver wasn’t ready by the early ship date so I switched it with Bliss. The order was packed well and shipped quickly. Everything arrived healthy and I was very happy with this experience (first order from High Country and first time ordering band roses). I kept them in an unheated greenhouse until June, then moved out to a raised bed that I had planned to grow them out for the first year or so until I move them out to their permanent spot. It’s my second year growing roses and first experience with bands. Although the plants are small I was able to try more varieties within my budget. Overall, Reine Des Violettes was the slowest to grow and the only rose not to flower this year. Her foliage remained healthy looking, so I’m guessing she will just need more time. She was placed next to Princess Charlene de Monaco, who grew the tallest this first season, so the contrast was very noticeable. For this reason I am starting with a 4 star rating. I chose this variety for few/no thorns/prickles.

Color is richer in cooler weather, or perhaps partial shade would help as well.
But the color is exceptional when at its best.
Fragrance is wonderful as well.

I love this rose. I have it by a trellis to train it (paired with Nahema, it’s a big trellis). Love the fragrance flowers

What a beauty Reine des Violettes is ! The color is captivating – sometimes deep pink, and at times gorgeous smoky grape. I’ve read this rose should be fed well, still mine did great under some pretty harsh circumstances with only one fish fertilizing in Spring. Definitely in my top 5 roses.

It’s new to me this year, but so far I like it. It’s healthy and has put out a lot of new growth. I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s like at maturity!

I absolutely love this rose! I have it tied to a 4 ft trellis that it gracefully hangs over. Mine is very disease resistant. Some limbs look gray in the winter to make me think they are dead, but to my surprise, buds form on those old branches in the spring! The rose loves it when I fertilize it and do a fungal treatment in the late fall, just before going dormant. The reward in the spring is a beautiful initial show of the loveliest blooms, no black spots with great rebloom of a decent amount through at least mid summer. It maybe could bloom longer. It’s partially me. I don’t fertilize much during hot summers here, so naturally most of my roses slow down blooming to reserve energy. It’s one of my favorite roses due to the consistent beauty and disease resistance.
